The Tanach, with the evidence built in
This is the complete Hebrew Bible in the Jewish Publication Society translation. Wherever a real archaeological find bears on the text, those words are underlined in gold✦. Hover over them or tap them to see the artifact and what it confirms. From there, Next find takes you to the next underline, so you can tour a whole book’s evidence, and the share button turns the verse into an image.
Each chapter lists its finds under its title, and the chapter picker shows how many finds every book and chapter has. The AA button sets the text size, light or dark, and English, Hebrew, or the two together.
Psalm 32
1Of David. A maskil.Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered over.
2Happy the man whom the LORD does not hold guilty, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3As long as I said nothing,my limbs wasted awayfrom my anguished roaring all day long.
4For night and dayYour hand lay heavy on me;my vigor wanedas in the summer drought. Selah.
5Then I acknowledged my sin to You;I did not cover up my guilt;I resolved, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
6Therefore let every faithful man pray to Youupon discovering [his sin],that the rushing mighty watersnot overtake him.
7You are my shelter; You preserve me from distress; You surround me with the joyous shouts of deliverance. Selah.
8Let me enlighten youand show you which way to go;let me offer counsel; my eye is on you.
9Be not like a senseless horse or mulewhose movement must be curbed by bit and bridle;far be it from you!
10Many are the torments of the wicked, but he who trusts in the LORDshall be surrounded with favor.
11Rejoice in the LORD and exult, O you righteous;shout for joy, all upright men!
